Its been quite a busy time in Sri Lanka. My wife’s mum Gladys’s 98th Birthday celebrations went off very well. Gladys was born and spent her girlhood years in Nuwara Eliya, a town in the Hill Country also called Little England as the houses were designed by the British in true English tradition. The climate is very cool right round the year as its at an elevation of about 5000 feet. Gladys was very keen to see where she was born so we took her to see the town. Unfortunately her home was no longer there apart from the name of the house on a gatepost! Her father was the Park Curator and we took her to see the park. The original house that was occupied by her father when on duty was still there but modified a great deal.
Here are some more pictures from Sri Lanka.
